Please forgive me....

Forgive me readers, for it has been far too long since my last post.

Things have been incredibly hectic of late. Nothing too major, but all distracting none the less.

I will try and put a picture up either this afternoon or tomorrow of my first modesty mate give away, but until then, here is a little pic of the one who takes up most of my time..... (now who could get angry at a little face like that!) xxx

Handmade Heaven a Stockist

It's official!! Handmade Heaven is my very first stockist of the Modesty Mate Design.

I am very excited to see these go public and I encourage anybody who sees them down there to let me know what you think. Hopefully some feeding mum's find them as useful as me!!

Over the next few weeks I will be working on a few variations to the Modesty Mate design, including a tummy cover add on, and a cute little drawstring bag to keep them clean whilst they are rolling around in mums handbag or nappy bag between feeds, as well as a few more colours to add to the range.

To see, feel and fall in love with the Modesty Mate, get on down to Handmade Heaven. You’ll find the store located downstairs at the Old Flour Mill, 231 Brisbane Street, Ipswich.

Happy hunting and I’ll blog again soon.

Kindest Regards, Paula :o)

I always feel as though I am chasing my tail.. going around in circles and never really getting anywhere, but there does seem to be a silver lining in today's little post, as I have only JUST now finished putting my finishing touches on the Modesty Mates to appear in Handmade Heaven.

Not too shabby hey? Haa haa! Of course this post wouldn't be complete without a little picute of Lincoln, my inspiration for this concept in the first place... Thanks Linc!

(I'll do another post today with pics after I drop off these goodies to the store)!

A little update...

Can anybody please tell me where this year is going??? Or the secret for slowing time down? It's crazy!!

Anywhoo... last Saturday I made a little appearance at the Ipswich Handmade Expo with my shared table with Rachel from Violet Spice. Rachel had a great little day with many of her outfits receiving some awesome feedback and even made a few little sales which was very encouraging.

It was great to get my Modesty Mates out into the public and although I received much interest, it would seem that it is difficult for people to imagine how they work.

So here is a few little pics to help...

Here are a few Modesty Mates fresh of my little production line....

To look at they are really very simple. And by design that is exactly what I am aiming to achieve.

I would like mums like myself to free themselves from being self conscious about breastfeeding, and no longer have to worry about wrestling with copious amounts of material whilst covering the breast and the baby.

The arm band anchors the mate so you can let it hang while keeping your hands free to positon your baby. (My latest stocks also comprise of snap buttons for more accurate and adjustable sizing as seen in the picture below). The length of the mate then stretches across mums chest and tucks in under her opposite arm. When the breast is exposed underneath the mate, and the baby is in the position to feed, simply lift the corner of the mate on the feeding side to allow the baby access.

As you will see from the picture below, it is very modest and discreet. This design also allows full view of baby. Which is great if you have a fussy feeder like my little man.

I've booked a space at Handmade Heaven, so this will be my first official stockist. However, I am still working on the display and packaging of the Mate to make it just that little bit more appealing. Feel free to email any suggestions to me at paulafaydesign@optusnet.com.au

Hopefully I will have some more pics and a definate date for Handmade Heaven in the next day or two so stay tuned!...

A Sneak Peak

The last few days have been chaotic, but I think I am finally able to see a little light at the end of the tunnel. Although I can’t show you too much just yet, here is a little sneak peak at the fruits of my labour that began at 4.30am yesterday morning....

I am still working on embellishments etc, but I must say I am very happy with how these are coming along. I think the blue is a nice change from the pink too. (I know it will match more of my wardrobe!)

Yesterday I bought some black material and I hope (fingers crossed) to get a few modesty mates done up in this material this evening.

Stay tuned! Paula :o)

Labels and Snaps

Good Morning!

Last week saw the arrival of my brand new clothing labels and button snap press, so it's all getting a little more exciting.

The finished product looks much more professional now with only minor tweaks still needing to be done in order to make the modesty mate, just that little bit more perfect.

I am just in the middle of cutting and pinning up some new blue ones and will hopefully be able to post some pics later in the day.

On Sunday whilst out at Indooroopilly shopping centre I gave away one of my newest modesty mates to a mystery mum who was nursing at a cafe... A big hello goes out to my mystery mum! If you are reading this, thank you so much for your warm reception and I hope that you are enjoying your new mate!

Over the coming weeks I will be on the lookout for other active nursing mothers to introduce them to my concept and hopefully rally up some very unbias reviews about my product. For anybody who would like to leave any feedback for me on the modesty mate, please do not hesitate to leave a comment on this page or shoot me a quick email at paulafaydesign@optusnet.com.au

In the next week, you will be able find my modesty mate stocked at Handmade Heaven in Ipswich and I look forward to posting more details on that in the coming days.

Till then, as always, thank you for visiting my blog!

A functional feature....

Just whipped up this concept Modesty Mate... featuring a diamante buckle that slides from one side to the other... Designed to take onlookers attention AWAY from the side you are feeding from.. PLUS as an added bonus, the buckle is a little reminder of what side you are to feed from next... Let me know what you think! Paula xx

Breastfeeding Modesty!

Allow me to introduce you to my first concept...

The Breastfeeding Modesty Mate.... No more wrestling with copious amounts of material, no more curious onlookers wondering what you have under wraps... this basic design brings modesty and camouflage together. Whilst using this modesty mate, onlookers will simply assume you are giving your babe a cuddle as there is no boob to be seen!

You simply slip the mate up your arm and let it hang whilst you get bub into your lap. Then pull the mate across your chest tucking the loose side under your opposite arm. Whilst the cover is across you firm, get your milk maker ready underneath and when you are ready to go, simply lift the bottom corner and attach your baby. It is that easy!

You get full view of your baby attached, but nobody else would even suspect that your bub isn’t just tucked in close for a cuddle against this soft and flexible material.

There is NOTHING like this at all available! I'm so excited to share this design with you!!

PATENT PENDING...

If you would like more information on this concept, or better yet would like to own one or two yourself, please email me at paulafaydesign@optusnet.com.au

They are SO handy and make a great addition to a feeding mothers handbag (or better yet as a baby shower gift!) This is simply SIPPY CHIC!! BRILLIANT!

In the meantime stay tuned for the next little gismo making life that much easier for us mums!!

Kindest Regards, Paula :o)
